Frequently asked questions
Which city has the number plate code BT?
BT stands for Bayreuth and Landkreis Bayreuth (Bayern). Both registration offices issue BT; the one responsible is the office where you live.
Which registration office is responsible for my BT number plate?
The one at your main residence, not the one on the number plate. If you live in Bayreuth, it's the Zulassungsbehörde der Stadt Bayreuth; if you live in Landkreis Bayreuth, the Zulassungsbehörde des Landkreises Bayreuth.
Can I get a personalised BT number plate online?
When registering or re-registering, the responsible office assigns a number plate. If you reserved a combination with BT there yourself, you enter it with its PIN during the process. We currently don't offer reservations through ZS24.
