In full if we cannot submit the application, for example because online registration is disrupted in the district or the details are not accepted as entered. Once the application has been submitted, we no longer refund anything, not even if a detail later turns out to be incorrect.
Re-registering a car in Kreis Soest: the essentials
A re-registration in Kreis Soest can now be done digitally, whether after buying a vehicle or after a move. You need the security codes from the registration certificate (Fahrzeugschein) and vehicle title (Fahrzeugbrief) as well as an electronic insurance confirmation (eVB). If you keep your number plate, the seal stickers stay untouched; only with a new number plate are their codes needed too.
For this, the vehicle title (Fahrzeugbrief) must have been issued on or after 1 January 2018. Older titles have no green-framed sticker with a code. The code on it has twelve characters and always starts with a capital B. Upper and lower case matter; a single wrong letter makes the process fail.
The fixed price of 64,95 € already includes the registration office fee. Until the new documents arrive by post, you drive with the provisional proof of registration that comes by email.
You can keep your current number plate. If you want a new one, the registration office assigns one, or you enter a reservation you made yourself.
